Not a lot
to say today. 38 miles and 9 locks. We are getting very good at them I must
say. The Yacht Controller does make it
easier so that I can get to the stern line and hand it to the lock staff. If I have to go a little bit in reverse, no
problem. Then up the stairs to shut down
the engines.
The day started off rainy then cleared up somewhat around noon. Later in the afternoon the wind picked up but no problem, Yet! We reached the bottom of Lock 22 which is the last one before the Lift Lock and just north of Trent University. We had just finished tying up for the night and Sandy was lying on the back bench when we heard a loud revving of an engine. A houseboat was on the opposite side and trying to tie up. He did manage to get a bow line on, but must have missed the stern.

Did I saw the wind was blowing? Yes about 15 Kn from the stern of the
houseboat. You know what happened… the stern swung out until the boat was bow to
to the wall. Thankfullly there is enough
room for the houseboat to continue the swing without hitting us, but I was a
little concerned. They eventually tied
up, though tomorrow morning they will have to turn around to go up the
lock. Hope that the wind has gone down!
