Bohemia River

Lighthouse on Delaware Bay
We left Cape May after fueling up and proceeded to Delaware Bay. The wind was blowing 15-20 and the waves were from stbd so we decided to get up on the plane to make the ride more comfortable.  After about one and a half hours we were further up the bay and the wind/waves had calmed down so we were able to slow down to a sedate speed.

We saw a variety of vessels…ocean going container ships and large tugs pulling barges.  There were also a lot of sailboats.

Our Location
We are now tied up in a covered slip on the Bohemia River, just past the entrance to the western end of the C&D Canal.  Bit of a tight fit, so made excellent use of the yacht controller to back in.  We have checked and we can stay as long as we want.  We will do that while keeping close watch on Matthew.  Current forecast sees its effects near Norfolk late Friday and then disappating by Sunday.  Who knows with a hurricane but we will be cautious.  No sense heading further south on the Chesepeake and getting closer to the storm.
Well secured
ps.  The admiral wants everyone to know that she was not the only one having an ice cream, she just savours it longer!
